As social media infiltrates our daily lives, it’s also becoming an important part of the way we travel.
Tripl, a startup that allows users to share travel tips, trip itineraries, and photos from friends, created a cool infographic that shows how social media affects the way we travel.
They found some interesting information, like the fact that 72% of all social media users check their social networks daily while traveling but only 7% use mobile internet while traveling. They also found that Facebook and Twitter are the most popular networks among travelers and that the most popular destinations for social travelers were Hong Kong, Norway, and Singapore. Social stays are on the rise, with sites like AirBnB and Couchsurfing seeing tremendous growth.
