2011 was the year social media exploded and influenced our lives in many ways. Through technology, we have become more individualized and separated, however, through social media, we have the ability to communicate relationally — to rally around causes, voice our opinions and to be heard.
Facebook is the power hitter in social networking today, and is likely to drive the most activity and a fair share of the innovation in social networking in 2012. But it’s not the only company driving things forward.
The early days of social commerce have mostly been about broadcasting, giving people ways to share the products they like in the hopes that their friends come back and make a purchase.
